Ford. They did experience some trouble with the new 6.0 diesel engines that came out a few years ago but I believe it has been rectified. The power is better than the 7.3 diesels and the newer models are rated for pulling more weight than any other brand. Definitely get the camper stabilizers ~ well worth the dough. The transmission is what you need to worry about in the pulling scenario, not the engine, and I think Ford's performs better.

The Ford F350 is the best. Do not get a 6.0 they have had a lot of trouble.
It has been the best-selling vehicle in the world for 23 years and the best-selling truck in the United States (and possibly the world) for 28 years. Analysts estimate that the F-Series alone makes up half of the Ford Motor Company's profits in recent years.
The new 2008 model will introduce a new 6.4 L twin-turbo Power Stroke Diesel V8 to the replace the problematic 6.0 L Power Stroke Diesel V8. The engine is said to produce 350 hp (260 kW) and 650 ft·lbf (880 N·m), beating both the General Motors Duramax V8 and DaimlerChrysler's Cummins ISB I6 on both power and torque.

whats up with theses idiots telling you to buy toyota, honda and mitsubishi to tow a fifth wheel? oh my god! neither has a diesel engine option in any of their cars. plus neither company has a vehicle sutable for towing a big fifth wheel. leave the heavy work to the grown ups!! big 3 all the way. dodge has long line of great pick ups using the revered 5.9 cummins. chevys 3/4 and 1 ton trucks just got better as of 2000 when they finally installed a good diesel. the duramax! anything before 2000 is crap! and ford has had great diesels since the 80's with their 6.9 and 7.3 powestroke and non-powerstoke diesels. but as of 2003 fords diesels have sucked because of the 6.0 powerstroke. its a bad diesel. lots of recalls on the engine alone. there have been none on the chassis just the engine. with the twin turbo 6.4 coming out next year it should be on top again! so good luck with you decision.
