I have allergies, so a sore throat wud not be uncommon, but last week i tried smoking pot (which im never gona do again) for the second time and i just started to get the sore throat afew days ago. Cud it be from the marijuana and if it is, will it go away?

by the way im only 14 so if my mom finds out im screwed, so do you think i shud just keep it to myself, cuz i dont wana get involved with a doctor. its not that serious anyway, it seems to be going away.

Yes, and most likely the sudden sore throat is from smoking weed. The smoke that you intake from the drug is very harsh as compared to cig or second hand smoke. It's not as smooth as cig smoke either. The harsh smoke likely irritated your throat causing you to feel that it's dryed out... it will go away, you should go about treating this as you would any other sore throat you've had in the past, drink cold fluids, nothing too acidic like OJ or lemonade, lots of water, stay away from smoke too! Most likely your sore throat is from smoke inhalation just burning your throat, which is normal. If it was an allergy you'd have a throat closing sensation or find it difficult to breathe.
However, marijuana is a weed and may cause allergies. Cases are few and far between, but it does happen.

It's possible. Smoking of any combustible can cause a sore throat. Pot maybe even more so, 'cause pot smokers tend to hold in the smoke longer and the smoke is not filtered and is hotter than other smoke-able combustibles. It will go away, gargle with salt water or Listerine...

yes, it could be if you are not used to it, it can be very harsh especially if you coughed alot. did you share it with anyone else? Since essentially you are passing saliva back and forth if anyone you shared it with had anything it would be easy for you to catch it. Marijuana also lowers your immune systems albiltiy to fight germs. The sore throat should go away in a few days, try gargling with warm salt water or lemon water. If it does not go away or gets worse or your glands are swollen I would see a Dr. as it could be something more serious.

The smoke could have caused the sore throat. Remember, there are over 4000 differnt chemicals in Marijuana smoke. IT could have been anything, but I'm guessing it was the actual smoke that caused the aleady irritated throat.

likelihood, you got that sore throat from one of the other participants in your reefer smoking adventure.
True, marijuana is unfiltered, but the likelihood of more chemicals than cigarettes is slim to none. I don't think the average pot grower and distributor is going to waste $$$ on adding chemicals to something that gives such a natural high.
And there is nothing wrong with you deciding to lay off the dope. Most of my friends are potheads and totally accept that I prefer not to smoke it. Just don't like the high, makes me paranoid and sometimes even sick.

Not sure but I got a sore throat from 2nd hand smoke now I have throat cancer taking meds for 2wks if that doesn't work I need surgery to remove the lump in my throat cause mine's been sore over a week.Good Luck

No. But you probably had a dry mouth when you took the 1st
puff. I smoke ciggs. & if I don't swallow a drink of something to
lubricate my throat it'll get irritated. Maybe that's what happened.

yeah, it could be...i was a hardcore pothead for 3 years and got sore throats...its harsh **** depending on the size of the hit and what you smoked it out of
you'll be fine...suck on some halls...i used to suck halls while smoking to keep my throat from hurting

it could be from the heat of the joint/blunt/bong... when you inhale, the heat hits the back of your throat. after time, this will have to start to harm your throat... take a break or quit like I did. there are other things in life to get high from
