My friend about a week ago drowned in a river rafting trip. I cant help it, but every time i go to swim or something, and i see other kids playing the dunking game (where you take turns putting there head under water) i want to yell at them to "STOP THERE GOING TO DROWN! Any suggestions?

I'm so sorry to hear that dreadful news, the same thing has happened to me with my best friend a month ago...

But I'm afraid there's nothing you can do about it. Accidents happen, and they always will, it's how life works - it's unfair, I know.

You've just got to think, it was extremely unfortunate that your friend passed away, but it's not going to happen to everyone. You'll get through it with the love of your family and your friends.

If there's somewhere that you know you will feel uncomfortable, then my suggestion would be to avoid that place, until you are stronger. Other than that, there are no answers as to how to cope, because everybody has their own way of coping, and you must find yours.

My saying is, 'Put Down the Magnifying Glass', which means things aren't as bad as they seem. I know right now you probably feel as though life is hell, but that's perfectly natural. After a while you will realise that it's time to move on, and will see things in perspective, in a new light.

Deepest sympathies.
You'll be okay hon ;-)

I am sorry for your loss. There is no simple answer to that complex of a question. A few things you might be able to do to help you cope with your loss are 1) Remember that not everyone who play that game or goes on a rafting trip dies. 2) It does not sound like you have actually accepted and moved past your friends death, so I would suggest some kind of counseling( school counselor, pastor, youth leader, even a very good friend that came be there for you to work through this). 3) Write your deceased friend a letter expressing how and what you are feeling and leave it on his/her grave. It may not seem like alot, but it actually does help. It releases alot of what you are feeling. I hope I was of help. Take care, best of luck.

First of all Im sorry for your loss, and secondly, I too recently lost a Best friend. I too now have troubles coping with it. But the best advice i can give is to avoid doing certain things .... unless you are comfortale with it. If you know that the place you go swimming there are kids there playing that game, aviod going there and go to another place. There is no def. answer to your question and there is no def. suggestion for you to get over this. Only really time will heal all. I hope you feel more or less better soon ~~ Best Wishes

You are overreacting a little, which is understandable. Just try to keep it all in persepctive, but keep and eye on the kids to make sure nothing else happens.

I am sorry to hear about your friend.
