the Seattle murders by that Pakistani terrorists?

What Mel said and did was inexcusable, but the fact is that he harmed no-one but himself, and the usual hyperventilating suspects.

Yet, a man kills several people in Seattle, and the media shrugs its shoulders. That's despicable.

Sealss3006, great point. Like I said, Mel hurt no-one but himself, and he is being attacked as if his the second coming of Osama, but Hollywood and the media basically sprayed their shorts in adulation last year for that child-molesting director (what was his name, Polansky?)

Yes I am. The sad truth is that the American public cares more about what kind of toilet paper the Hollywood celebrities use than about more serious issues like the one you mentioned.

Mel Gibson is a nice man and they have no right to pick on him any more than they would want their life publicized. He has about 8 kids-that would make nearly anybody want to have a drink or two.
As far as the cop's statement, I hope that is not true. (After the Great Passion?????)
The news media is so busy trying to get their program-air time filled with interesting trash, that they are like piranhas-they all just SWARM to the least little movement and destroy ! I do not believe anything from them anymore.
I actually had not heard about the murders in Seattle---but I heard about Mel 4 or 5 times!

Yes this is a sick culture we live in. They choose to ignore all of the serious issues just to belittle a drunken man. If every American citizen was held accountable for the words that came from their mouth we would all be up to bat with Mel. We have all at one time or another, drunk or not, said things we wish we could take back. Once out for all to hear there is no taking it back. Time for people to clean up their own back yards before they start on someone elses. There are murders, rapes, hate killings and the list goes on but nothing so important as what Mel Gibson had to say. Get real and give it a break already. Does anyone remember Zsazsa Gabor slapping the police officer? Does anyone even know who she is? Get over it and move on .

The liberal media works hard to shape America into a celebrity conscious society. Super hero's Super Models Super size. It is part of the Emperialazation of America.

Currently we have a close 50/50% split of voters that want a Emperor and voters that want elections. It will only take a few more people to end this 230 year run.

The fact that more people voted for Taylor Hicks than "W" is a good indicator where Americas head is.

I would love to see a good old fashioned Redpublican president with a Democratic Congress working with checks and balances to the good of America. But I expect to see Jeb Bush assume the throne in 2008 Prescott Bush III in 2016 and the Bush twins as first Woman Emperor in 2024

Go big Red Go

To that one guy, who's a dumbass...

Ok so the media is too busy spinning the war so the dummicrats look right, but they have enough time to go ape **** over Mel? Ummm ok your logic is fantastic. Where did you go to school? Was it Harvard Elementary?

And obviously if the so-called 'liberal' media said more about terrorists attacking the US still, people might not be so supportive of the 'War on Terror' you see because that would mean the ******* thing is failing. The world isn't getting safer. We're just separating the world even more into two sides that could eventually war.

because a celibrity going off on a drunken tirade after driving drunk is so much more entertaining then Israelis bombing Palestininian children. News in the United States isn't news, it's entertainment. Ratings fuel the media, therefore it has to be as entertaining as possible. How do you get big ratings? Talk about celebrities because they're worshipped like gods in this country, and also talk about stuff that scares the hell out of people. For example: "NEW REPORTS THAT ISLAMIC TERRORISTS COULD BLOW UP MANHATTEN WITH A DIRTY BOMB. WE'LL HAVE MORE NEXT ON FOX NEWS, WE REPORT, YOU DECIDE! DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!".

The media reports what the ppl want to hear.Sadly, the general public cares more about Mel than the ppl that died in the shooting and the fact that the person shooting was a terrorist.Think about it.More ppl voted for the next "american idol" than in the last presidential election.

It is despicable, and it is also typical of the sensationalist news media. They're going nuts over what Mel Gibson did, but I bet they're not publicizing that he has asked the religious community for help in overcoming his alcohol problem. He's a Christian, yes, doesn't mean he's perfect.

I can't figure out why the media cares about Mel Gibson's DUI. It must be a slow US news week. That or perhaps since he p***** off the entire Jewish Faith, and Fox News and a few others are run by members of that faith, they are trying to ensure his career is over.

I have heard about the Pakastani murderer in Seattle, it is on the news.... at least on Fox.

Mel Gibson was drunk, probably just being sarcastic, not anti-Semetic. He probably doesn't even realize he was being sarcastic.... if that was the case. It is nothing to get upset about.... Louis Freakakon is truly worse.

And most of the news media is sickening.... Heart stated it well in their song 'Barracuda'.
