A good leader is someone who understands the goal of the group and works in conjunction with other group member to achieve that goal. They are sensitive to the needs of each group member and can accommodate that. They watch for problems and act as group moderator. A leader is patient with each group member and can think critically, accept input, even criticism without resorting to acting in a petty manner. They sometimes make decisions if their group cannot come to consensus. Their overarching duty is to assist the group in reaching their goal, without furthering their own interests.

Someone who can achieve the goal of the team by bringing out the best of each team member (include the leader him/herself). In the process, the team members should also benefit from their work. This "team" can be small, as in a school project team, or huge, like a whole nation.
