Lots of good answers here! Photos, cell phone, computer tower... all very thoughful. Obviously family, duh! She asked about things...
If I had the time to do three "things" safely...
1. Wallet (or purse if you are talking women.)
2. My Keys (hopefully your have a car parked outside!)
3. Cellular Phone

These are 3 things that are not replaceable. Furniture and personal belongings are all replaceable!

Assuming the people and pets (like dogs and cats) are safe, I'd take my scriptures, my 72 hour kit, and a wet towel to protect against smoke and fire as I left.

all important documents are in a small fire proof safe, which is also water proof
(insurance policies, passports, birth/marriage certificates, house deeds etc)

Well if I had time, I would make sure the family is obviously out first,then the animals, some clothes and maybe some pictures if possible.

#1 my family (If I get my family out, nothing else really matters, but...)
#2 family photographs (we had a fire when I was a child and we lost almost all of our pictures from when us kids were small)
#3 my purse (My ID's, insurance cards, cell phone, credit cards, etc.)
