by being loyal to eacth other . respecting each other feelings and ideas. being there for each other through bad times especially and by giving each other advices on any issue. you also have to be open mind meaning not hiding any thing and telling each other the truth. you also have not to be judge-mental about the other person but to accept them the way they are. a good friend is a roll model who inspires and leaves a life of good morals.
