Some would say that intelligence enables one to know their limits (but what great things were done within the limits of their time?). Perseverance (try, try again) is how we push past the limits (of even intellect) to accomplish great things.

Didn't Thomas Edison say something like, "I have not failed 10,000 times. I have found 10,000 ways not to make a light bulb"? He succeeded through perseverance.

intelligence is best.

Because if you persevere in an error, then it's obviously a flaw. And to detect what to persevere in, you absolutely need intelligence.

Therefore, intelligence comes before perseverance.

Intelligence can be enhanced by so many factors, including perseverance. Effort does drive one's IQ up a few points.
