When I wake up my eyes are puffy and my face looks like I'm still asleep. It is really embarrassing! I was wondering if anyone has some tips to make my face look more awake and my eyes less puffy. Thanks!

Simple Home Remedies that can help you get rid of puffy eyes:

1. Gently tap your skin with your ring finger when you are applying eye cream to encourage the excess fluid to drain away.

2. Store creams in the refrigerator, as the coldness will also help reduce puffiness.

3. Place strips of grated potato under your eyes to help reduce swelling. Strawberries and cucumber can also help.

4. Fill a small bowl with iced water or ice-cold milk. Soak a cottonwool pad with the liquid and lie down with the dampened pads over your eyes. Replace the pads as soon as they become warm. Continue for 15 minutes. As well as reducing puffiness, this treatment will brighten the whites of your eyes.

5. Drink of enough water will also reduce eye puffiness. When a person is dehydrated the body starts storing water as a defense system and this will add to puffy eyes, so drink around 8-10 glass of water daily to get rid of puffy eyes.

6. Make sure you get enough sleep with regular timings.

7. If your eyes are puffy in the morning, go straight for a cube of ice. Wrap it in a paper towel and hold it over each eyelid for a few minutes. The cold will reduce the swelling.

* This sounds a bit bizarre, but it works. Pat some haemorrhoid cream onto the skin under your eyes. Give it a few minutes to sink in before you put your make-up on. Haemorrhoid cream helps tighten up the skin under the eyes.

If you have dark circles under your eyes, apply Yves Saint Laurent's 'Radiant Touch', or another concealer which is one shade lighter than your skin, over this area under your eyes. Fix this with loose powder. Apply white eyeshadow on your top eyelids right up to your eyebrows. Apply a touch of light silver eyeshadow to the inner corners of your eyes. This will make your eyes look brighter. Curl your eyelashes and apply mascara to both top and bottom eyelashes. This will make your eyes appear wider. Apply blusher (matched to the colour your cheeks turn after exercising or when pinched) to the apples of your cheeks. This will give you a fresh glow. Finally apply lipstick matched to the blusher to help brighten up your face.

Drink some cofee and wake up, it goes away in a few minutes.
Or you could try to sleep with sliced cucumbers on your eyes. I do not really think that works though.
Try a good moisturizer before bed, facial cream...
get more sleep and don't overdo it at work.
slow down, give yourself more time for YOU...
Find a hobby that takes you out of the DAILY GRIND.
For a short period of the day.
well GOOD LUCK with it.

When you first wake up in the mornings wash your face. When you are putting on your make-up curl your eyelashes. This will open your eyes resulting in making you look more awake. Always take your make-up off at night. Trust me I have the same prob. you do and I do this every morning.

Wash your face in the morning with a really warm cloth and hold it under your eyes for a few minutes. Try taking vitamins at night to feel your best in the morning

Buy a bottle of witch hazel, its cheap in chemists, keep it in the fridge and put it on cotton wool, and put it on ur eyes for 10minutes after u get up, lots of other good advice here though, mainly get enough sleep, cut down on salt, drink plenty of water.

try a cold rag or ice on your face for a few minutes then use a makeup trick with eyeshadow... stay away from dark colors.. use neutral, something with a bit of shimmer on your inner eye corners... this will brighten up your face..

also, eye drops/eye cream should do the trick...

There are these gelly eyemasks that you can either put in the fridge or microwave in water for heat. Putting something cool over your face in the morning to waken you up, or taking a cool shower. good luck

Splash your face with cold water, or rub it with a cold rag.You can also try putting on mascara and eye shadow to liven' up your eyes! :) And if your lips are dried out don't rub them or lick them, just apply some lip balm or chap-stick.
