he can not look straight in your eyes when explaining himself and he sounds sarcastic and defensive

Its the same both ways man..you female lot are just as bad. It goes 50/50. Think about it. Do you think you look as if your lying when you do. It depends on how long youve been together. If its been a long time then, go with your gut feeling. Ive been right in the past

when he swears hes telling the truth but looks away awkwardly. When im lying I have to think about what im saying to make sure its right, that could be a tell tale sign if he is having to think about it!

Dont be paranoid, why would he lie to you? If you honestly think he is, just ask and judge his reactions!
Dont be put off by the other answers not all men are liars, just some of them. It just means when you have one that's not he is a rarity and you should keep hold of him!
