Yes you can but perhaps not the full amount depending on what you earn. Me and my partner were told some time ago by the housing association to look into claiming even though we both work full time. However, we were earning too much money between us so we didn't bother even trying (I earn £1000 per month and my parnter , self-employed, earns about £600 per week) so I knew there was no hope of us getting it. It is dependant on what you earn as to whether of not they will give you housing benefit but all you do is fill out the forms and apply. All they can say is no.

Entitlement to Housing benefit is - i think dependant upon your income. And I think you do need to be on benefits to claim it.

Three years ago, I claimed Housing Benefit when I was unemployed. Get more information on it from your local benefits office.

If you are earning a low income, you might be able to get help in other ways like working tax credits. It is very easy to apply for, just contact your local job centre for the forms. As I was on minimum wage, I got my pay topped up by £40 every week. Hoqw much you would get though depends on how much you earn.

That in turn helped me to pay my rent

Depending on the rent you are paying and how much you earn, it is possible to claim housing benefit. Just call your local council to see if you qualify.

Yes you can.

You will probably not get 100% but they may pay a percentage towards rental costs. It depends how much you earn.

I think you would also need to be claiming working tax credits.
