The film is good, the book a lot better though. all of Dan's books are great. Of course it got a lot of great free publicity too, especially from the cathos and the pope too, but to be honest even before that happened it has doing good. The story is fun, interesting and lets face it, we didnt need any cinemas putting adverts before the film saying its a work of fiction. Thats why it was sold in the fiction section.. Duh!! Only religious people could think up that idea hahahaha!!

I think it was a let down after the book. There was so much in the book, and it all happened so fast, with so much information. It was really written as if it was a movie, with the quick scene changes and dialog. When they made the movie, i think they had to take a lot out, which would have been difficult because everything was there for a reason. It would have been hard to remove elements and still keep the same story. Because of it, i think they lost a lot of the character development, and that the ending was anticlimactic because there wasnt enough of the suspence throughout.
It was good, but i think it could have been better. It was a lot of hype.

was not a bad movie, but not a great movie.
Was not worth the hype.
It had nothing to do with da vinci really, except for the writing on his paintings, which were not put their by da vinci. The last supper this was cool, but too breif to be properly apperaciated. This movie was kinda like silence of the lambs, new idea (for a movie) but not a mystery, no clues given to you to solve only held you had and walked you through the story no independant thought required.

The Da Vinci code was a rather adequate adaptation of the book. It dealt with the religious issues well too, not being disrepctful. Harrison Ford would have made a better Langdon, though.

Didn't waste my money on it after reading that the experts and critics booed and hissed it at Cannes and some got up and left during the showing, the Catholic church universally condemned and may even haved cursed it, a Korean theatre chain refused to show it even to non-Christian Korean audiences and the Scots who run Rosslyn Chapel (where a lot of footage was shot) said they were embarrassed by the movie.
And you ask HOW I FELT about the movie?
It--OBVIOUSLY--was a dud bomb from the beginning and I feel justified in not spending my money or time on it.
I expect people will have trouble even finding DVDs for it in future years.

I saw the move and it sucked. I walked out. I had not walked out of a movie since Istar in 1987. My mom read the book and she thought it sucked. I expected a great mystery through the ages like another movie I have yet to see (American Treasure?) but it was anti-Christian propaganda. I was offended even though I am not a bit religious. Wait for it to come out on cable. Don't pay good money to rent the tape.

I read the book and I really liked the movie. Some changes did need to be made for time purposes. If they added every detail it would have been a very long movie. I loved the cast thought they were good choices. I would recommend seeing it for yourself and forming your own opinion.

You know I really liked it,is the first move that I watched 4 times. It very, how to say, contradiction.
But the theory of the movie is a interesting wan.
Now I am reading the book and I have to say that the book is more interesting than the move.
You really should read it.
A little advice.

The theory that was used in the movie was interesting and a bit shocking, but its just fiction. I guess its just meant to tantalise your creative mind and make you stop and think for a moment. However, it was pretty much boring for me. I must have fallen asleep a couple of times. The end was what made the movie worth it though.

After reading the book I was wondering how they could possibly make a movie without totally butchering it. I was pleasantly surprised.
Definitely worth seeing.
