If you are dealing with a superficial scrape or a cut and don't want the hair to grow back white you can put Mega- tek on it. But not until the actual cut is healed. I know people who use Vasiline. Anything works, you just need to keep it from drying out to much. But take care of it as a cut first, because if you put stuff to regrow hair, the cut won't heal as well, and that is counter productive

I'm not sure as to what you are asking exactly, as you don't have much information listed.

If you are referencing a color breed, like a palomino, leaving them out all day in the sun can bleach their hair coat out. Putting them in a fly sheet can help, but make sure they can tolerate it for the amount of time they will be wearing it. Also that they can wear it for an extended amount of time. Putting on a sheet for the first time and throwing them in a pasture could be detrimental if they spook or get it hung on something.

The ideal situation to keep them from bleaching out is to keep them up during the hot part of the day, and let them out in late-afternoon/evening hours when the sun is lower. The downside to this is you have to protect them from mosquitos and the possibility of contracting west nile.

I know a breeder who swore by using bacon grease on small cuts so the hair didn't come back in white.

Just keep the cut/scratch/nick clean on a daily basis and then use your favorite ointment or spray to help disinfect. If you keep it clean and have medicine on it until it starts growing in new hair, it should be fine.

I have heard that bacon grease will make the hair grow back in the right color, but I have yet to give it a try!

Are you dealing with an injury? It will depend on the injury itself, and if damage was done to the hair follicle.
