Unfortunately, I don't know much. I have some Indian friends, and agree with Llama Em: they're polite and their speech is soothing. They have profound spiritual beliefs and some lovely traditions. As to the food- I absolutely love it! It's wonderfully flavorful and varied. To my great sorrow, I don't have access to Indian cuisine, as there aren't any restaurants in my area.

All of the Indians I have met, I have loved. Listening to them speak is so calming for me.
Love the food, too, though I have to be in the mood for it.
Alas, I don't know much about its culture. :(

More than I do about the collective usa, that's for sure!
The people are polite and generally respectful, the food, very flavoursome and varied and the culture civilised in comparison.
