Bathroom facet drips constantly. I put in a new washer, that's not it. It's a single handle, like a hotel faucet...just the round flat knob in the middle you pull up and push down. LOTS of water being wasted. Thanks for all who help!

Should I just replace the whole faucet? That might be easier?

Fixing Ball-Type Faucets
A ball faucet can leak in several places: around the handle, spout, collar, base. Therefore, we'll describe how to repair the whole works. Yet, fixing your faucet may only involve one of these steps.
Locating the leak and shut off the water. Remove the set screw holding the handle. Using the kit's wrench, snug down the adjusting ring if it's loose and slowly turn the water back on to see if the leak has stopped.
If the ring is already tight or the leak persists, turn off the water and remove the adjusting ring.
Take off the plastic or ceramic cam piece and its seal that sets on the ball valve. Replace the seal if needed. Make a note of how the ball valve slot lines up with its small alignment pin then remove the ball.
Most models have two rubber seals and springs that set under the ball. Remove them, clean out any deposits and replace with new seals and springs.
On the outside of the housing, cut off the rubber O-rings and roll on new ones and re-install the faucet.

You didn't replace the faucet seats.
Remove the faucet again, take a look at the little brass seat in the water pipe.
It will have a square opening. You should see the edge in the square has some of the edge eaten away.
You will need a "seat wrench", take out the threaded seats, take the seats to a hardware to get a match. Replace both the hot and cold seats.

Single handle faucets like that usually have a cylinder that controls the hot and cold. Just replace the whole cylinder. A piece of hard water calcium has probably built up keeping one side open allowing the drip. I have these same type where I work.

Depending on your level of experience, yes it might be easier to replace whole faucet, but it will be more costly. But if you wanted to change it anyway that would be the time. It is not difficult to change a valve seat and new washers, there should be two washers one for hot and one for cold, at least there was on the model i changed in my bathroom. Happy plumbing.

If you want to fix it Edward I said what I would have. However, knowing what to do and being able to do it is a different story. I would buy a new faucet assembly. They can be inexpensive and probably cost around the price of the valve seat and valve seat remover. That is if you can find the proper one anyway.

If it does then your deductible might probable be $ 500.00 and the coverage enterprise pays a restorations enterprise to eliminate the bathroom , any broken flooring and subfloor or drywall (something laid low with the water ) they're going to then make optimistic the area is dry to avert mold and disinfect the area ( biowash) to kill bacteria. whilst all is dry they're going to reconstruct each little thing and reinstall the bathroom and paint partitions if mandatory. All you need to pay is your deductible. in case you opt for for to have it executed your self, the cost will matter plenty on what the subfloor includes and how lots of an area is affected .You suggested downstairs, is it the basement? Is the subloor basically plywood on concrete or is it plywood on concrete on sleepers? one layer of plywood or 2? You probably replaced the wrong washer. There is probably a cartridge in the handle which must be pulled out and replaced.

It's more work, but next try the valve seat. It can be removed with a screwdriver or a screw extractor.
