Mel Gibson said "All the Wars in the World are the Fault of the Jews and Israel."
He is an Anti-Semite who got away with it for far too long. His father is a well known Anti Semite and Holocaust Denier.
And Mel Gibson has the chutzpah to make a mini series on the Holocaust.
Alcohol is obviously a good Truth serum.
PS If Mel Gibson aired similar views about Afro-Americans, Chinese or Muslims everyone would be outraged.
PPS I am DISGUSTED at all you LATENT Anti-Semitic and Racist Apologists on this site who have FAILED to CONDEMN Mel Gibson for his Disgraceful Behaviour and Outburst. He is supposed to be a ROLE MODEL and "devout" Catholic and Christian - but has displayed nothing but HATRED.
By saying Nothing and "Turning a Blind Eye" you ALL condone his behaviour, beliefs and ideas. This is exactly what happened in NAZI GERMANY. BAD THINGS HAPPEN WHEN GOOD PEOPLE SAY AND DO NOTHING.
SHAME ON ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE FAILED TO CONDEMN MEL GIBSON.

I think that it's a great opportunity for all the perfect people to sound off and be judgmental. He's human, he made a mistake and he is seeking treatment. So many self-righteous people will come out of the wood work and condemn the guy - he was drunk and driving, which is huge no-no, and he said some despicable things, for which he has apologized. He's no different than a lot of us, because we all make mistakes. He's just expected to maintain a higher standard, because he is in the limelight, and he screwed up big time. I hope he gets the help that he needs and can back to making great movies again...
We should all get a life and forget about being transfixed on the lives of people who are famous.

What do I think? It has been my experience that when you are wrong, it's best not to be a jerk on top of your error. He should have taken the ticket, posted bail and kept his opinion to himself! When he acted like an a-s-s and gave his opinion to the officer in confrontation style, he not only proved he was drunk, he also proved that he was SO DRUNK that he could not control his own mouth! If he can't control his mouth, then he deserves what he gets.
He drank enough to be stupid, he acted stupid, and the police dealt with him. If he had just kept his mouth shut, he would have not had anything but a flash in the pan scandal, and it would have all been done. Now I think Mel is going to find out just how UN-popular his opinions are with some people. I think they will shun him in some film and entertainment venues now.
Why couldn't he have kept his mouth shut? Well he was drunk and from what I have heard his father is also rather outspoken against Jews and doubts the holocaust. So maybe Mel's real problems go back much further than we know, sometimes when we teach our children to hate, they take that hate with them through their lives. Racism and cultural bias is wrong, to teach it to your children may cause them so much pain and difficulty in their lives. When you are a parent, you have a responsibility to try to allow your child to learn that everyone hurts, everyone bleeds, and they all have feelings, you don't have to agree, but it's sometimes smart to just try to get along. (my opinion).

I think the media are having a field day by being able to make one of the nicest people in Hollywood look bad.
He's human, he makes mistakes just like everyone else ... the difference is that the tabloids don't report on our lives (thank goodness for me too, I would add!).
I can guarantee you that I have done far worse things than Mr Gibson during a state of intoxication ... it's just that my escapades didn't make front page international news.
The media is pathetic. Give the guy a break.

What the hell is all the furor over Mel Gibson being stopped and making slanderous remarks. He's human, and therefore subject to making stupid choices. When Joe Blow gets pulled over and shoots his kisser off about a minority, absolutely nobody notices or cares.

We all lose our cool from time to time and the news stories ONLY reported the COPS version of things and Gibson's PR flack trying to cool thing fast. We have NO IDEA of why Gibson said those things.
So--the world is a busy place that is full of important things to consider and do--and if your part of it is limited to asking questions like this and spending five points to do it--my advice is to GO GET A LIFE!!
I will RECEIVE two points with my next two key strokes.

I don't get why everyone really cares.... so he f'd up.... I don't know too many other people that haven't done something stupid...
The other thing is if people are going to boycott him for what he did then why do people support Woody Allen?? Brad Pitt??? Pari Hilton??? there are countless other celebrities that have screwed up as well... people just need to get over themselves.

It's sad for all. He'll survive it. It is a drawback for anyone who
overindulges into anything. It could happen to anyone.
I'm not so sure he actually said those anti-semetic things though.
He doesn't seem the type.
Either way I won't discuss it anymore, it's none of my business.
