Has anyone ever seen Bonds as a Pirate? He was short and skinny. Now look at him! He is 255lbs, was hitting 60 homeruns a year, and you're not sure if he took steriods? If you like Bonds and want him to get 756 homers, you might as well jump off of a bridge. Hank was never over 200 lbs when he played. No steriods at all. He never had more than 50 homers in a season. He has the record because he loved the game so much that he played for 24 seasons. Hank deserves much more than second place. First is where he belongs and should stay forever.

come on you guys... why does everyone hate him? when he took steroids they werent even illegal, why is everyone attacking him then. he is the best baseball player since willie mays, he was a gold glover, hit for power, hit for average, was fast(in his early days), he's a five tool player. you cant know if hank aaron ever took steroids because they never tested back then, (and even if he didnt what about other advantages he had like a more HR friendly park). i hope bonds breaks it although it will be tough... if he stays on the same pace for the rest of this year and the next he will have about 754 or 755 HRs, so if he can stay 2 more seasons after this year he will probably break it, if he stays one then he will finish up with about the same as hank, maybe 1 or 2 more, maybe 1 or 2 less.

lol, I don't think he could if you wanted him to or not. Bonds's swing is getting very slow, his fielding is becoming quite bad, his power is declining and he's not as aggressive as he usually was at the plate. Sometimes it looks like he's just hacking for power, and for a guy his age, that's a recipe for retirement. I was personally rooting for him, b/c I think Bonds is a more complete player than Aaron, but it looks like this is probably the last season in an illustrious career. (get off of his back for the steroids ALL MAJOR LEAGUERS WERE DOING IT!) Bonds is the best and most complete player ever, despite what you may personally think of him.

Bonds cheater or Hank Aaron honest and a hero t baseball

No because Hank Aaron is good for the tarnished image of baseball. He was modest and had tons of death threats while he was chasing the babe's record. Aaron also did it naturally with no steroids. Bonds is a cheating, lying, and egotistical excuse of a ballplayer

Wouldn't mind it...if Aaron accepts it and Mays accepts it, I wouldn't have a problem with it...

just cause he's guilty in the court of public opinion doesn't mean he's actually guilty. And the arguement about him being bigger than he was 20 years ago is getting weak...how many 40+ year olds look like they did at 20???

PS - I still have doubts about him doing steriods, but it's not cheating if it's not illegal...and supplements weren't illegal in baseball at the time...most of the people hatin on here would have done it too if they were in the same situation...

Noooooo...I don't!I think that he has cheated by taking steroids so I don't want to see a cheater break a record of someone who was naturally a great player like Hank Aaron was.

He won't beat the record this year and no one is going to pay $15+ million for an over the hill hitter and terrible fielder. He would need to move to the AL and become a DH but no one will want to bring along his baggage for his salary.

No. I hope that he sees the writing on the wall and finally figures out that no one outside of S.F. wants him to ever get another hit again. Luckily it's starting to catch up with him - he's hitting a sorry .240 with only 14 HRs this year. He should just go away like McGwire did.
