I'm in Va. I would plant just about anything in FL except something that could drown. Trees, anything good in your area. Palm, willow (not too close to the house or water line!) are great there.

Veggies, here in va it's time to plant cabbage, lettuce, broc, cauliflower, brussels. You could plant the same. But I would drop in a few tomato plants *(not seeds) if you can find them. Flowers, anything. Get some hearty mums, they will come back bigger and nicer next year!! Daylillies too! Put some hostas where it's shady! They are beautiful, can be moved and propagated easily next year!

Whatever they are selling at Lowes and Walmart right now, you can plant. Put in some artihokes too! Pretty and edible!

By Florida law, new viable seeds have to be released each August for what is determined to be the second growing season. August till mid orlate November is the time for coolseason crops that may flourish. However, due to the ongoing drought, irrigation will be necessary to ensure any growth at all.

Telephone your local agriculture extension service agent for full information concerning the area where you reside. In Gov section of phone book.
