DEATH is the only way you can get out of your contract. But the most important question is why do you want to cancel? What has cingular done? I think they ROCK!!!

I wish i knew, otherwise i wouldnt be with cingular

ive heard that if you have sprint, you can get out of if by saying you're moving to a place that they dont have coverage and ***** about it till they dont make you pay a fee, but i dont think that cingular falls for that. in their contract, they say that the only definite way is if you die, your family doesnt have to pay the fee and itll be waived,

You could always fake your own death, but that might have implications

Its really hard to cancel and not pay the contract. When I had nextel I told them that I wanted to cancel my contract and that I wasnt going to pay for the cancelation fee because it wasnt my fault that my phone didnt have reception (which was true, and my bf had nextel too and had the same problem) they said they were sorry but they had to charge me. What they did was the charged me the 200.00 dollars but they didnt charge me that last month usage of the phone. So, i only payed 200.00

Death or dismemberment are your only options for getting out that contract.
If you want a new phone why don't you try buying an UNLOCKED mobile from eBay or retailers that sell them?
All you have to do is remove the SIM card from your current phone and then place it in the new phone.
