The only thing that perpetuates stereotyping is the media and how much you are exposed to real life surrounded by people who don't know anything about other races....

everyone has a distorted view of at least one race in the world whether they know it or not..the only way to counter it is to surround yourself with the world and learn other races before passing judgment

There is a thin line between humour and slander where race is concerned.
While there are plenty of good jokes that hinge upon national or racial traits, real or imagined, there are a lot more that are just mean nasty and low insults to human intelligence

I tink no matter what good or bad you can never irradicate them
I say just take it with a pinch of salt, and remember that if you are joking about other races/ethnic groups, they are most probably having jokes about you.

So lets just keep it at jokes, have a good laugh and not bring them into a place where it could turn everything sour

good- making a mockery of racism gives it less power. also (if someone is offended by a racial joke)- invoking a negative reaction towards racism is a good thing

It depends. There are appropriate places and times for everything. However, I dont think EVERYTHING is ok ALL THE TIME. Its a judgement call.
