You need to take your car to a muffler shop and have the catalytic converter changed it cost about $150.00 what happens when the converter gets clogged up the cars exhaust cannot breath in other words looses allmost all of it's power the exhaust is pushing back into the engine and makes your car sound like a go-kart . Good Luck

Alot of different things could be going wrong. I would simply take it to a repair shop and ask for an engine diag if you dont know auto repair. Should be under $100 for the diag.

I agree w/ James, take it to a reputable shop.
could also be a bad ignition coil.i have 19 yrs exp. in auto field

when you do find a shop that you like and trust, keep going to it.
it will end up saving you a ton of $$ in the long run!

How many miles are on your vehicle and have you ever had the timing belt replaced?
