I mean like your living in the wrong era.

Yes. There are many, MANY things that I find alluring about many past eras. I often idealized past times as being less stressful, muddled, frenetic, etc. than these current times and imagine that I wouldn't have minded living then. I love the American Colonial period and the Civil War era, and Georgian and Victorian England and America, and the Roaring 20's just seem like a non-stop party!

But then I walk down the hall to my bathroom with my flush toilet, catch sight of the deodorant and soap on my counter, listen to the "magic music box" called a stereo, get a cold drink of water out of my refrigerator and maybe throw a little blanket over my legs because the AC is turned up just a little bit too high, and I think ... "Nah!"

Absolutely. I keep feeling like I'm living in the past! Humans in this era have made a lot of progress from the past, but in many ways we're still a backwards, primitive, and immature species.

I wish I was born in the future...like a few centuries at the very least, but maybe an eon would be nice! Lacking that, though, I'll be happy if I can simply live long enough to see a good chunk of the future. (It might be possible, check out the books in the links below....)

Never. What was there earlier was OK for those people at that given point of time; what is now available is OK for us, depending on where from you are talking. If you are speaking from Lebanon or Israel or Iraq or Afghanistan all the trouble spots of the world, these are localised problems which will have specific answers relative to that place and time-frame. But otherwise every moment in the universe is a great moment and we are lucky to witness the events as it is happening. Just remain alert to the events without ever assessing these.

No, I like my life as it is. There are things I wish were different ... I wish things weren't so fast paced, it wasn't so difficult to protect my children from the terrible things they see daily; but if I were born in a different era, there would be negatives to point out there as well. I just do what I can do, and deal with the rest!

Sometimes. I would love to have loved during the mid- and late 1800s, my favourite era in American history, when some of the greatest issues facing society--slavery being just the most important--were debated and decided.

I feel sometimes, then came to the conclusion that this era has an advantage too, that it doesn't interfere too much in people's life. So spend your time with yourself and build up your own circumstances as much as possible.

I think we are living in the era we are supposed to be living in. You can be fond of another era or think you lived in another era.

Past Life?

I figure that the Great Postmaster that knows when, where, why, & how to send/place/order everything else, might know more than just a little bit than I about my era or my illuson thereof.

I get that feeling all the time. Sometimes I feel like I would have been more "complete" having been born maybe in the middle ages, or in victorian england.

I feel like I am a puzzle piece from a puzzle that hasnt been manufactured in hundreds of years.
In this time, there is a puzzle that is similar, but the fit isnt exactally right.
I dont know if I belong in the past ( which is where my heart lies) or the future(which is where my mind lies), but I definately dont feel like I belong to this time period.
