My pc works perfectly all the time but my laptop goes off when ac power is plugged in although my laptop works perfectly when used on battery. Help greatly appreciated!

The most likely cause is that your signal is "marginal", and the introduction of another electrical component close by (the power adaptor) is enough to drop it below the functional level.
To test this, move the laptop right up close to the Wireless router, where the signal is strongest... then try it with and without the adaptor.
If you're seeing the same problem under those conditions, it's most likely that the power adaptor is at fault. It may be generating electrical interference, bad enough to knock out the wifi.
In which case, you're probably looking at a replacement adaptor.

This could be from a misconfigured power profile but it is more likely that the power circuitry is generating some sort of interference causing the problem. Normally if you pull up the adapters utility, you can get better information on the signal quality and stregnth, than if you let windows manage the wireless connection.

The electrical current is probably interfering with the wireless signal. You need to get a filter at Radio Shack.

adaptor may be low quality and may be delivering the frequency varient more than 50-60 hz
