Depends on definition of making. If you mean from time of conception to premiere, you could be talking decades. It takes time to get money and producers to back projects. there are supposedly some great movie that never got released because the producers ran out of money to pay the film developers.
I assume you mean production, from first day of filming to project wrap. Again this can vary wildly depending on type of production and type of shots needed (for instance a projet can last a year simply because second unit has to get shots of a location in snow.)
Generally though you're looking at a month to six months of shooting, this is not including preproduction which tacks on weeks to months over all, (I came off a shoot that had preproduction building sets from Jan to March)
Then you go to post production which again can last a long time depending on the director. And finally a release.
FYI most movies require 6 day work weeks 12 hours or more a day. They are not for the weak!

A low budget movie can can as little as a week, a major motion picture can take up to 6 months.
