Money doesn't guarantee that there's no pain. It just means that someone's material needs are taken care of.

I used to train at the gym twice a day, 5 days a week and I would push through the pain ... then I started working with a great personal trainer who told me that the 'no pain no gain' mentality was rubbish, and that pain is the natural way for your body to tell you there is something wrong.
I think that this applies to life too ... pain tells you that there is something wrong, something that you need to change or remedy ... continuing to live with whatever is causing you pain is only doing more damage.
Perhaps through pain we learn what our physical and emotional boundaries are, and that can help us develop as people ... so maybe there is some truth to it.
It's all a matter of perception.
