Simple, if the judge granted you ownership, it is yours. If the ex won't give you the items. Go back to court. The judge will order it done. It might take a few times of doing this for a judge to hold him in contempt or to have a bench warrant issued, but if the items are of that great of importance than so be it.
The second thing you need to look at is...........are the items the ex still has worth the battle. Are we talking about large sums of money, sentimental things, what? You may also try to convince your ex, on your own, if the items are of sentimental value. $$$$'s are harder to get away from a greedy person.

1. Document the request in a certified/return receipt letter with a demand date by which he must return these items to you.
2. Make sure you have given him all items he needs to get
3. If he does not comply have your lawyer go back to the court to get enforcement of the original judgement.
If he doesn't comply he can be held in contempt of court which could have fines or jail depending on the judge and where you live,
Good luck

Being in law enforcement, I advise you contact the court or your sheriff's office. We (sheriff) will escort the individual to the home to retrieve the items listed...but nothing else. The items have to be itemized so that the guy can't later claim that something was stolen with the assistance of the police!

If he is not following the divorce decree and returning your things he was prompted to do by the judge he is in contempt of court and he can go to jail.So I would tell your ex that if he dosent return your things immediatley that you will have no choice but to file a motion of contempt and you will see him back in court.

Once you have a divorce decree it is an official court order. Your local sheriff can then escort you to the residence and allow you to retrieve property described in the document.

Show up with the cops and a certified copy of the divorce decree. That should get his attention.

Take him back to court--you might be able to file with small claims court. He's violating the judge's order and can go to jail if he doesn't give you your stuff.
