No you dont.
Beep codes with no video will be only 2 problems
Memory or Video card.
Every other beep code will display the text onscreen.
The problem with the one big file like you want is that every manufacturer uses diffrent codes and some companies like Soyo use Human voice codes instead of beeps.

P.O.S.T codes are helpfull tools to troubleshoot hardware problems. for instance, if you hear 3 short beeps and a long one, that means your display adapter has a problem, continous beep =memory or system board. its better that you hear beeps than nothing, you may have a fried system if no sound or beeps.

beep noramlly helps u with bios settings and ram problem nothing to do with components
