I am trying out for the school soccer team in two weeks. I'm actually a basketball player but I like soccer alot, even though I havent played for a team in about 6 years. I also went to nigeria this summer and didnt excersise an inch. What can I do?

you need to run...A LOT! soccer is all about endurance. Multiple the running you do in basketball by about 10 and you'll have a half in soccer. If you run every day...I'd say about 2-3 miles, then 2 weeks should be enough time to get your endurance up for tryouts. After that, you'll need to increase the workout for the season.

hey well i actually played comepetitive soccer for numerous years where i sat around all summer, unfortunately, then had summer tryouts, and from expirience, heres what you need to do:
you do need to be fit to play soccer, but at most try outs they look for skill and potential, not as much fitness because believe me, when you start practicing theyll run you plenty. you should concentrate on a lot of skills practice. i coached a team for two years and here are some ideas. dribble a lot. go to a football field or a big open space and just run and dribble, knocking out two birds with one stone. also, work on your juggling and shooting accuracy. find a random mark and try to hit it with the ball. but the best advice i have is focus harder one your skills and of course run some, but you dont have to be amazingly fit at try outs. if you have any specific training questions, im me or email me.

I would run at night when it is cooler if you can, start at a mile, then increase it. They run a lot in soccer, also try doing stretches to help with your leg muscles so you don't get sore as often. Good luck on your tryouts!!
