Favourite - "**** over teakettle" - have said it all my life and didn't "get" it for many years. Guess I'm a real klutz!
Least favourite- "knock on wood" - drives me mad - it seems most of my friends like that one - its like EVERY sentence they use has to end with that!
Or: All single women have a cat
(in movies): All sheets cover (without bunching) the girl in the bed to the arm pits but sits nicely across the lap of the man beside her!

I modified one, rather than saying "The early bird gets the worm" I use "the late worm dodges the early bird" Kind of lame I know but used in the right setting it gets a chuckle now and again.
