I believe Americans are some of the kindest most careing people in the world. When ever there is a disaster its America who shows up to help. I have a Grandson stranded in Canada and he is disliked only because he is American. He is 2 years old. When a child is hated because of his country how sad this world is becoming. Its too bad he is such a brat only because he has an American father. It is really too bad that some people in foreign countries seem to forget what country has come to their aid when ever they called. I am a very proud American who still gives to those who hate us because I believe in kindness, understanding and helping anyone in need. I want my Grandson home where he is loved just because he is a beautiful child.

The american people cannot apparently understand that the norms of life they which believe as true do not work properly for the rest of the planet. As I said elsewhere I have visited some islam countries in the past (egypt was the last of them but I have also visited Turkey) and I have noticed that people have different aspects in their lifes. The people I met do not believe in organisations and institutions as pilars of their society rather than in personalities and leaders.if this works for them why does it bother the US so much?
The simplistic way of viewing people and countries always suited the US well. The americans were the first to exclude the communist-block countries and to put under the same label countries who had no real relationship with each others....
Another think is that this way of seeing things spares you the time to think you say that the Arabs are bad and we are good case closed. So finally I will not support that the americans are hatefull but that their government and current politics are utter rubish...
Ps I do not accept the argument "that we do not have responsibility for our government".Ancient Greek people believed that all the citizeens are required to paricipate in state's politics and that they all share part of the responsibility. The american people voted this government not once but twice and it supported it...Everybody has to take a part of the blame caused in Middle East...

not all americans are like that. But it begs the question, don't you think if we weren't the ones doing it that maybe Russia would? or Great Britain? Look back through history - there was always a dominant world power during most of the eras.
The best I can suggest it to look at a history atlas that shows who was in control of what regions and then to look at those regions under control and study the oppression that went on there and how the people were upset. Britain in India. Turkey in Arabia. Spain in Latin America. France in the far east. Russia in E. Europe. even Ghenghis Khan and the Roman Empire.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_United_States#Early_European_settlements Shame they didn't have that England emptied its prisons of the undesirables and sent them to the New World. You know what, I as an American citizen prefers not to be involved. I would rather that the terrorist factions would have stayed on the other side of the ocean. I would rather that we was not attacked by a bunch of insane people that thought they was killing the evil Satan on his donkey. Keep your terrorists in your own countries, let them blow you people to kingdom come and let us alone. I have learned more about the Muslim religion than I cared to know just to understand why this was done. I now know it is a taught thing. Anyone who is not a Muslim is considered an infidel and should be destroyed so the Muslim people can rule. Talk about cruelty, what is this sweetness on their part. You people can not stand America because of the freedom of religion in our Constitution and freedom of speech. Oh well get over it.

I totally agree. I might add that we should not give them any foreign aid, money or food, and when they start their little genocidal wars we should just let them kill until their hearts content. Please don't come back with the U.S. gets things from other countries, of course we do we call it trade. I think the U.S. should become an isolationist state for about a year and then let the rest of the world see what happens. We aren't always right or the best but all of these nations aligned against sure have their hands out asking for food and money alot.

"Blame America First!" as Jean Kirkpatrick famously said. What a great attitude. Leave them alone? As in leave China alone and look the other way while they abort babies nearly at term? Americans are not hateful people. Move to Cuba or China or Iran. Find out what hate really is then get back to us.

The United States is the country of the great inferiority complex. The people who have come here are the losers of their countries. Now that there in the United States the act big because it is the most powerful country in the world. They treat the countries that they've come from like crap. As it says on the Statue of Liberty give us your poor, needy, hungry. Give us the losers who can't make it where there from.

You are so wrong. We are a peace loving people, however unlike so many other countries, we are willing to fight for what we believe. I can not imagine what this world would be like without the United States. We have an obligation as a world leader to intervene in world affairs. You obviously can't govern yourselves, so we have to get involved. It's for your own good.

Americans are perceived as 'hateful' because our culture values wealth above all else, and to be wealthy you have to be selfish, egocentric, ethnocentric asses, apparently. I'm an American and am mostly ashamed of that fact. This isn't my president, my government nor my culture. I am a hippy and always have been, always will be. Though atheist, I also believe 'do unto others.." is the ONLY law the world needs.....

It's actually because of people like you. Before you get mad think about it...
SOME American people can be narrow minded and hateful SOME of the time. And SOME people stereotype other people, cultures, religions, etc. that's what you just did by making a statement about all Americans.
