Ok I lent and (ex-boyfriend) he was not my boyfriend at the time, money because his liscence was suspended and he needed the money to get it back. At the time I lent him the money he was not employed but was going to be starting a job soon, which is why I lent him the money ( so he would be able to get to work) when I lent him the money we had a verbal agreement that he would pay me back the money once he started working, he has been working for about a month now, and he gets paid every week. He has yet to say anything giving me my money back and everytime he gets paid he gets something new ( non-necessity items) I feel like I should not have to ask for my money back but it looks like I am going to have to, how do I go about this without getting into any akward situation or confrontations?

Just tell him that you did him a favor when he was in a bind by loaning him the money, but you could really use it yourself now. It's better to try to clear the air now because even if it's not much money but it bothers you every time you see/think about him, it will only bother you more later. You were good enough of a friend to loan it to him, now it's his time to respect the friendship.

you could give him an invoice charging him the amount that you lent him plus 5% interest. Or just calmly approach him and tell him you need the money. If he asks for an explanation as to why you need it either a. lie or b. tell him it's personal. In the end though you may just be spinning your wheels but if he's a decent human being he should understand and realize that he should pay what he owes.

Write it down on paper, take it to him and ask him for the money. If he doesn't give it to you, ask him to sign the paper. Be friendly, non confrontational and act as concerned for his welfare as you did when you loaned him the money. Have a friend witness this discussion then if he doesn't pay, or refuses to sign the contract, have your friend write down what he/she saw and take it to a bank so a notary can witness the signature. If he doesn't pay by the next paycheck, go to your local court house and file a small claims case against him. It is cheap and easy and when you win, he will have to pay for the case too.

Well I have same problem with yours. But I would suggest you to made up a story in which you really need your money back coz of something, to pay credit card, etc..I think he will give your money back and you don't have to feel uncomfort.
In my problem since the one who borrowed my money is my sister so I never asked for the money back I just wait her willingness and kindness. But don't be like me...go get your money back!!!....

say, "remember the money i loaned you to get your license back? well you have been working for awhile now, and i really need that money back. if i don't get the money when you get your next paycheck then i am taking you on judge judy."
(maybe leave out the part about judge judy, but you get the idea. sometimes you have to be forceful with people or they will never give you what they owe you.)

Just asked for the money. He asked you didn't he?
More than likely you'll never see a dime. However, you might try to get a payment plan out of him and make sure he signs the "Promissory Note"...then you can take him to court.
Give him receipts if he pays in cash......
Right now your in a "he said, she said" situation.
You can still sue if you are credible.

It sounds like your ex doesn't have any intentions on paying you back. I would keep asking him for the money and maybe set up a payment plan with him. Hopefully, he will comply.

they say the quickest way to lose a friend is to loan them money --- sometimes it sure seems that way.
When he gets paid ask him for the money back if he blows you off -- take him to small claims court.
