Invite everyone for dinner and afterwards, hand each set of grandparents-to-be a box. Make it really plain on the outside. Inside, put in baby bottles, rattles, something that says 'I love my grandparents' (like a bib or onesie), and, if you can wait long enough, I though it would be sweet to put a ultrasound pic in a frame that has grandchild or something like that written on it. They'll start crying, I swear!
Congrat!

How exciting!
1. You could have a card of some sort made that says "You've won the lottery". On the inside have the ultrasound picture and tell them they can receive their prize on your due date.
2. If they would be willing to play along. Have a scavenger hunt where they would end up at the hospital nursery or at a baby store. You could get there before they do to see their reaction. This could also work if you just hid stuff around their house such as baby booties, bottles, etc...
3. Have a shirt made that says "baby on board" or "bun in the oven" or "waiting for the rabbit to die" or "the rabbit is dead" (that would be funny). Wear it casually around them and see what they say.
4. Make an album of baby pictures of you and your husband. Write your names by the pictures variously through the album. At the back of the album put the ultra sound picture with a big question mark beside it. Have your parents look through it...
I hope these gave you some ideas. Best wishes and good luck.

If it is likely you will tell both sets of parents separately, consider how you will do it: via telephone, in person, etc. Regardless of how you tell them, if you aren't going to tell them straight away, try this:
Get a copy of your first ultrasound photos (most places take several), make copies of the best ones and frame them (in a nice, baby-themed frame) for the grandparents-to-be. This way, you can present it in person, or via the mail if traveling is not an option. Remember, they will have the photo forever, unlike a t-shirt (they wear-out) or a phone call.
If you can present the photo in person, go to a restaurant (make arrangements ahead of time) and have a 'baby' themed dinner with 'baby' portions or 'baby food' (i.e glazed baby carrots, baby-back ribs, etc.). At some point during the meal, if the 'rents haven't caught on, give them the photo and tell them the great news! (This is what my husband and I would have done if we hadn't been living overseas when I became pregnant.)
Auguri! Congratulations, and good luck with telling your parents and in-laws the happy news. :)
Also, Grandparents day is in September, it's always the first Sunday after Labour Day. This would be a great day to share the news!

my husband and I waited almost 6 years before becoming pregnant. I wanted a special way of telling my parents also. It was close to fathers day, so I had my grandma crochet me a pairs of tiny baby booties. I put them in a box and wrapped them in fathers day gift wrap and put them on the table with all the other fathers day gifts. When my dad opened the box He was totally surprised!!!!!
fast forward almost 8 years and i find out i am pregnant with kid #2. by then my parents had 7 grandkids already. I wanted to surprise them again. It was in the fall, so when we went to visit them, I bought the biggest pot of Mums I could find, and put this card in it:
roses are red
grandchildren are great!
how would you feel
about having eight?
My mom not only loved the flowers, but the note that told her she was having another grandbaby!

Present them with a big rose-bud and say you love them now. They will be excited. Then you open up saying you are very happy that a new addition to the family is on its way and they must start preparations in welcoming the little one. They will be so excited! Good luck!

Buy two tee-shirts. One should say, World's Best Grandma and the other should say, "World's best Grandpa, or something like that. Wrap the tee shirts in two different boxes and give them to your mom and dad together and tell them to open them together. They'll freak with joy!

My mom works with a lady whose daughter is having a baby any day now. Her and her husband gave her parents a Christmas card signed with their names, and then put & with an arrrow, and on the other side of the page they put a copy of the first sonogram. That was their way of telling her parents they were expecting.
Grandparents Day is coming up in September, you could get them a card for it and sign it "love, your new grandbaby."

I would go to the store, get a card saying something like "congratulations on becoming grandparents" and give it to them. Thats how I told my husband I was pregnant, it was around fathers day so I gave him a card and he was so excited he said he would never forget it and he tells everyone.

How far along are you? I'd wait till you are atleast 2 months, some folks like to wait till after 3 months when your chances of miscarriage drop 15%.
Idea, get a big T-shirt and paint on it "Beer gut in the making".
or "No I'm not pregnant, I'm working on a sexy female beer gut"

HOW OLD ARE YOU?!?!?!?!?!?! IF YOU ARE IN COLLEGE GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I suggest saying grace. Even if you have never said grace in your life insist on it then say something like "Dear God, thank you for this food, this health and this family. And God, thank you so much for the new edition that's going to be in our family in ___ months (insert number of months left). Then start having a completely normal conversation like about the food or the stock market. Hopefully your parents will get the hint and be really excited. If they don't get the hint just tell them straight out.
Good luck with your baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
