No. It's actually a great time to start lifting weights and building up your muscles. Just make sure you don't have any underlying medical conditions, start slowly under the guidance of a coach or trainer, and don't forget to add in a little cardio work to keep the most important muscle of all healthy too-your heart. Good luck!

You will never get a healthy body if you eat a lot. By eating a lot, you will get lots of things and health is not one of them. If you moderate what you eat, any exercise will lead to a healthy body, even simply walking. By eating a lot, you take in lots of calories and carbohydrates. By exercising, you burn calories and calories from carbs. But you can not exercise sufficient to burn the calories you ingest if you eat unhealthy or "lots." There is a balance that must be maintained. And, weight lifting will not stunt or slow your growth. It will add muscle and bulk if you do it right. However, when you stop, there's a good change that the muscles will be replaced by fat if you don't also cut back on eating. It's that balance thing, again.

no it's a myth. A lot of bodybuilders used steroids when they were younger and it stunted their growth. THat's y people thought that in general lifting at a young age is bad.

I don't think so, my husband started weight lifting when he was 12 and he is 6'4". My son wants to start weight lifting but he is only 11 so he needs to wait a bit longer. I think you should be fine.

See a doctor first because many gyms won't allow anyone under 16 years old to lift without a doctor's note.
