The rule of thumb -- it takes 9 months to gain the weight so give yourself 9 months to get back in shape. This way you won't end up gaining more weight. It should be a slow process so that it lasts. I get so frustrated when I read about women (and I use that term loosely) who are killing themselves a month after the baby is born to get back in shape. Hello? Don't you have a baby to take care of? I never rushed getting my figure back and it did return within a year with all of my children. I am pregnant with # 4 so hopefully the same will happen this time. And if not, oh well! There are many more important things in life than worrying about getting back to my pre-pregnancy shape.

It really is according to how much weight you gain during pregnancy--after you have to watch what you eat --if you were fit before -i would say a good 2-3 months if you are really trying to get where you were at before you became pregnant

my friend at work just had a baby two months ago and she looks exactly the same as she did before the baby. She said all she did was breast feed and the weight just came off.

They say breast feeding also helps get a woman back into shape.

It all depends on how much weight you gained. But, I would say 3 months if you are working out one hour/four days/week.

depends on how "out of shape" you were during pregnancy. (Honey, my kid is 25 years old and I still ain't back in shape!)
