The first part of your question can only be answered in a subjective manner. Sex can be offensive to some, funny to others and interesting for a few! Moral or immoral, again it depends on the culture, norms and values of society etc. So, the answer, sex in advertising is not offensive to many, offensive to some, some find it immoral, while other can not care less.
You need to ask your self, what is the role of sex in commercials and why do the creative directors of ad agencies use it??
Answer is simple; sex captures the attention of the viewer, it makes the ad standout from the rest, hence generating word of mouth and gets high recall figures amongst the target audience as well as seconday targets.
There are tons of alternatives that can achieve the above mentioned advertising objectives;
1- Funny ads - acheive good levels or recall, generate word of mouth
2- Cute ads - babies, pets etc
3- Celebrity endorsments
Remember, at the end of the day. The advertiser wants people to see the ad, remember it and talk about it. Sex makes that happen, but so do the other criteria mentioned above.
Hope the above helps

It depends how the sex is used. There are a million variations on how you can use sex in an ad. I don't think it's immoral, but on the other hand I don't think morality has anything to do with advertising anymore anyway since most of advertising is based on creating lies and illusion. I don't know what the effects are, long term. Obviously sex is still used a lot so people must think it works. Having said that - there are as many alternatives as you can think of. There's no limit to them, just that the format of advertising is so rigid...

It is getting old. I don't believe sex is the only thing that will sell a product. It isn't offensive to me. You kind of laugh when you see rice made sexy. Immoral I don't think so. I think things about everyday life are funny. I love the new M &M commercial. Everything the guy says they make a song out of it. Take different jobs that a mass have. Like the medical field. Grocery clerks. Restaurant workers, etc.etc.

Sex in advertisement.
I don't see it as anything that will ever go away. The more liberal we get as we go on.. the worse commercials and everything else is going to get. I don't really seem it harming our youth.. I'm sure 13-14 year olds have been having sex since forever... advertisements aren't going to make any difference.
Keep bit*hing about it though and I'm sure the government will just do something stupid and put a ban on it. They have enough control as it is.

different people are offended by different amounts of sexuality. i know with some advertisements, if it is about sexuality only, i don't even pay attention to the product. for example, i remember there was a commercial for car insurance or a car lot or something related to cars. the only thing i saw in the commercial was a bunch of girls standing around half naked for no reason. i like advertisements that are funny instead because i'm always telling someone about a commercial if its funny and telling them to look out for it. its a better way for me to remember the product and it gets the word out.

Although sex in advertisement is offensive, it is still an effective tool to capture people's attention. Sex sells!

I don`t think its nice to show *** in advertisements.But how about romantic scenes which touch our hearts directly?We like to see those advertisements again and again without any feeling of discomfort.So what matters most is if the advertisement is filled with emotions or remind us of wonderful memories..
Romantic scenes along with good music and good models will be great..rather than showing the wilder version of romance.

Sex, Food, Safety, Water are all essential for a healthy physical and psychological well being. All of those topics are OK to exploit. Its our puritan society that tells us Sex is a no no, well how do you think you came to this world. Restrain is purely a personal issue
