Ignorance is not exclusive to English speakers. It only looks like they're more ignorant of the rest of the world because it seems to be the most popular language in the world. You can go to any country and find people who are unaware of, or promote stereotypes, of other countries.

Many people in different languages could be ignorant. However, ignorant English speaking people also tend to be aggressive and arrogant.
It's not so much the not knowing about the rest of the world which lies at the crux of the problem. The worst part is the smug assumption that the rest of the world doesn't count and might as well not exist!
There was a cartoon character, "Mister Magoo" who was a lovable example of this kind of thinking. Unfortunately, most of today's people of this type aren't lovable with it.
Another good question would be whether it is worth educating people who have this kind of problem, or leaving them in their ignorance.

Do you specifically mean Britishers or everyone speaking English ? Your question is a kind of pointing to another question, if I am not wrong. You have certain presumptions attached to the personality of an English speaking person.

I see alot of prejudice in that question. There are people everywhere who are ignorant. There are also people who are informed, intelligent, caring people EVEN right here in an English speaking country. I suggest you don't put people in a box. Broaden your horizons. Open your eyes. Expand your wisdom so you can realize the world is much more informed than you realize.

Why would you ask such a question? It's so trite, like the old Polish jokes. And it shows ignorance of your own. Do you have any idea how many countries speak English? If your goal was to insult, you accomplished it, except for the fact that it's hard to take such a question seriously. What I do take seriously is your attitude. I suggest you examine it.
