1- Special-interest lobbying of the sort that is common to Washington. The only difference from typical lobby groups is that this lobbying is on behalf of a foreign government. Fortune Magazine rates one of the many lobby organizations working on behalf of Israel, AIPAC, as the fourth most powerful lobby in Washington. In total, many experts rate the pro-Israel interest group as the most powerful lobby in Washington.
2- The efforts of a growing number of individuals with close ties to Israel (known as neoconservatives) who have attained key positions at high levels of the U.S. administration, State Department, and Pentagon.
It's all about money and power. The US kisses Israel's butt because there's a huge percentage of American Jews that the US wants to please which means the US eventually ends up pushing Israel's agenda as well (blindly supporting Israel in EVERYTHING)

World Politics: We played a large part in Israel's rebirth, and helped institute a working, stable, Democracy in the Middle East. In return, Israel has supported us through our decisions, and likewise, we support Israel through theirs.
Local Politics: A large majority of the US is Christian (nominally, or actually). Our President is to be a representative of the majority of the population (in theory, if not always in practice). If a Presidential Candidate wants the Christian vote, he will have the same values we share, one of them being that we support Israel, many of us (particularly conservative and fundamentalist Christians) unconditionally.
Heritage: We are both founded on Democracy, with our legal codes based on a secularized version of the Ten Commandments, and our checks-and-balances systems coming from a Bible verse: Isaiah 33:22 "For the LORD is our judge [judicial branch], the LORD is our lawgiver [legislative branch], the LORD is our king [executive branch]; he will save us".
Religious: Genesis 12:3 "And I will bless them that bless thee [Abraham], and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed" and Psalm 33:12 "Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance". Those who bless Abraham, his promised son Isaac, and his God-chosen child Jacob (aka Israel), and the children of Israel (aka Jews/the nation of Israel), they too are blessed, and even moreso when the nation as a whole blesses Israel.
Common Sense: To actually say something mean about Israel isn't going to make Israel happy, isn't going to make the Christian majority happy, and isn't going to make extremist Islam (and the nations that support them) friends with us.

Have the other ME countries contributed anything to the advancement of Human kind like the Israelis have with their medical and technological contributions?
The only the I can think of is nurturing HATE in Islamic schools, paying off terrorists, recruiting suicide bombers, paying off the families of suicide bombers, carpets, caviar, and the continued cries for the complete destruction of all Jews & Israel!
