nope. Astronomy is the study of the planets, stars, space. Astrology is a psuedoscience (not science at all), that claims it can predict upcoming events by the position of the planets. One is real, one is make believe.

Wow, what a lame question! Uh....yes....there is. The physical aspects of the planets and the universe and the study of same, also known as astronomy, has everything to do astrology, which is a measurable science observing the how the energy of of the planets and the universe affects our energenics here.
My experience is that only people who are completely ignorant of astrology and have never either A) actually studied astrology for themselves; or B) had an actual professional astrologist study their chart, deny the validity of astrology. The loudest naysayers are the ones who read their astrology forecast in the newspaper and think that's serious astrology. Hhhheeeelllllooooo!!!!!
Case in point: Astrology is NOT about "telling the future". This erroneous supposition is a perfect example of making up judgements about something without any actual knowledge of the subject.

Astrology and astronomy are connected. Astrology has to do with the aligning of the planets and their relation to each other. The people who are astrologists are very knowledgeable about what energies these planets have and what an effect they have on a person. If the moon effects tidal waves, which is extremely noticeable, then how come the planets and stars can't have an effect also? To me it is a form of science.
Astrology columns in the newspaper or magazines isn't the real deal!! Have your chart done and then see how accurate it is!

Well, they are both about stars. But astronomy is the study of space, you know like how it began and all that is in it. Astrology is the study of the stars so that they can tell the "future". Astrology is more connected to mythology rather than real life. Astronomy is more reality than anything else. Hope I helped you some.

Astrology is a completely made-up study basing itself on an old and incorrect understanding of the universe and producing no reproduceable results.
Astronomy is the actual science of the universe and constantly changes and reinvents itself to take into account new and better observations. Its results are reproduceable and its theories are testable.
Think of it this way - if we based our rocket program on the way that astrology says the heavens move, we would never have been able to land probes on Mars. Using the theories and predictions in astronomy, we were able to predict exactly where Mars would be at a specific time and on a specific date. So exact was our knowledge that we were able to land probes there.

Astrology refers to any of several systems, traditions or beliefs in which knowledge of the relative positions of celestial bodies and related information is held to be useful in understanding, interpreting and organizing knowledge about personality, human affairs and terrestrial events. A practitioner of astrology is called an astrologer or, less often, an astrologist. Historically the term mathematicus was used to denote a person proficient in astrology, astronomy, and mathematics.
Astronomy (Greek: αÏÏÏονομία = άÏÏÏον + νÏμοÏ, astronomia = astron + nomos, literally, "law of the stars") is the science of celestial objects (e.g., stars, planets, comets, and galaxies) and phenomena that originate outside the Earth's atmosphere (e.g., auroras and cosmic background radiation). It is concerned with the evolution, physics, chemistry, and motion of celestial objects as well as the formation and development of the universe. Astronomical observations can be used to test fundamental theories in physics, such as general relativity. Theoretical astrophysics complements observational astronomy in that it seeks to explain astronomical phenomena.
Astronomy is one of the oldest sciences. Astronomers of ancient Greece practiced a scientific methodology, and advanced observation techniques may have been known much earlier
Although the two fields share a common origin, modern astronomy as practiced today is not to be confused with astrology. While astronomy is the scientific study of astronomical objects and phenomena, astrology is the study of the supposed correlation of those objects with earthly and human affairs. Astrology is variously considered by its proponents to be a symbolic language, a form of art, science or divination. The scientific community considers astrology to be a pseudoscience.

Astrology needs accurate information from astronomers to invent their fairy tales about what effect planets and stars have on humans.
Astrology was one of the reasons that early astronomers practiced their craft.
However, astronomy is a science, astrology is mythology.

well both astronomy & astrology are the sciences related to sky i.e. stars & planets. The former is the science which deals with the life on planets and other bodies in the space & their possible effect on earth whereas astrology is the science which helps us to know our future with the help of celestial bodies in the sky. astrology is the science which predicts our future but with astronomy we get accurate info as well as knowledge of stars and planets.

The people attributed religious and mythological significance to stars and planets since they could not make sense of the skies. Some charlatans swindled people by exploiting their dreams and telling them fortunes.
Astronomy has been a parallel obsession which is based on actual reflection and observation of the skies. It is based on optical observation, hypothesis, actual experiments and visits to space and such.
So though the two may have had a common beginning... they have ended up in two different camps.

Astronomy predicts where the planets will be in the future with very high accuracy.
Astrology tells your fortune based on those planetary positions.
