Why Hormonal imbalance controlled Dwarfism is labelled as Abnormality and Homosexualism as Normal?

Let me just say, the essence of an organism is its genetic blue print. So genes controll the phenotype. Same way, many fucntions especially phenotypical and behavioral are controlled by Hormones. As cellular chemical messengers they modulate the funtion of genes or cellular gateways leading to cell funtions.
Now sex apperance and behaviour has a lot to do with hormonal balance, this is my question is. Why two different scale?

Many recessive traits we call abnormal depending on the degree of impact on the phenotypic expression. Say albinism, phenyl ketonuria....

While it is possible that there is a chemical (hormonal) interaction as part of the reason for homosexuality, it is becoming increasingly likely and evident that at least for males, homosexuality is genetic, there is even a clear evolutionary understanding of the survival mechanism, and of why families with homosexual members were favored.

It appears likely (it is NOT proven yet, though the Fruit-fly study pretty much guaranteed that proof is only a matter of time -- however, what we can say now is that studies and research imply it is likely) that male homosexuality is carried by the female in many cases and follows the female lines a significant portion of the time. Those females that carry it are significantly more fertile and more sexually interested than women who do not. It does not have 100% penetrance as a genetic trait, as most genetic traits do not. Identical twin studies indicate probably about 50% penetrance even in identicals, which means much lower penetrance overall. It is well established and appears to be in the majority of female lines -- or so it is theorized.

The reason for its survival is simple enough, or so the theory goes.

In prehistoric times, early humans operated in family groups -- a family group that had males who did not have children of their own, but would protect and nurture the children of their female relatives and would help provide for them had a survival advantage, as did groups with more combatant males to fight off threats.

Therefore, families that had some homosexual members did better than families with none, and were more likely to survive.

Even if homosexuality were hormonal however, there are significant differences between it and dwarfism. There are observable physical disadvantages (congenital mental problems, some cognitive difficulties, etc) that are connected to dwarfism. The average dwarf has significant medical side effects and is likely to die much younger than the average person without it. None of this is true for homosexuals.

All sorts of things are caused by hormones. Do you think they should all be corrected? Should all men have the same amount of testosterone? Should all women receive estrogen to a certain level? That just scratches the surface of course -- but it gives you an idea.

Dwarfism is considered an abnormality because it directly physically harms the people who have it. Homosexuality is considered as normal partially because it is so much more common (no one thinks of shyness as being an abnormality, but there is increasing evidence that hormones play a role in creating it) but mostly because it does no harm -- it simply indicates that you prefer the same sex for sexual and romantic interests. This is a common variation within most of the animal kingdom.

Depends on what you mean by "normal":

It's not seen as pathological because Evelyn Hooker proved that there were no group of shared symptoms beyond the obvious; further studies showed that homosexuality in and of itself did not cause severe distress to the self or others, but rather the societal reaction did.

I could also measure how much chest hair the average male has. Should everyone who's two standard deviations above be given androgyns and everyone two standard deviations below be given more testosterone? Some things fall under variation without being harmful in any way.
Why aren't racial differences viewed as abnormal? In the west, non-pale skin is usually in the minorit; it's a statistical abnormality. And, when people encounter racism, I'm sure it causes them distress. Often their simple presence in a room causes other (bigoted) people distress. Does that mean the state is a medically abnormal one?

Because homosexuality has not been proven to be a hormonal imbalance.
Although I did hear of a study that seemed to suggest a higher degree of testosterone in homosexual men. But this needs further study as the sample size was rather limitied.
I myself have been tested for my testosterone levels and was found to be higher than age appropriate.

Dwarfism directly impacts the health of a person without the introduction of an outside source of infection, IE abnormality of bone growth and healing, physical pain, etcetera as part of the physical manifestation of dwarfism.
Homosexuality does not negatively impact the physical health of a person without the introduction of an outside source of "contagion", nor are those outside sources limited specifically to homosexual individuals.

Homosexuality is NOT normal. It is caused by a recessant gene trait. At least in men is it. They have yet to find a corresponding gene trait in women.

Primordial dwarfism is also caused by a recessant gene trait, so in that respect they are either both normal or both not.

We are all created in Gods image so that leaves being 'born gay' out of the whole theory.

Being gay is a choice, not anything you were 'Born As'.

Being born in Gods image does not include a division in color, race, creed or religion.

That's a good question. I want to know this one too. It does not make any sense to me either. I think doctors would say that people turn out to be gay because of their hormones in their body. I don't think so. I am open minded person very much so. Being gay is a choice. satan is working over time with the people in this world. He will decieve them any way that he can. Dwarfism is not hormonal controlled. Dwarfs suffer from a hereditary disease called achondroplasia nothing to do with homones, nor does homosexuality.
