"I could care less."

Well, if you could care less, why don't you care less? The proper expression is, "I couldn't care less." See, because then you CAN'T care less, your level of caring is so low that there's just no room to care less.

"I could care less" is also an appropriate phrase. It just means the opposite of "I couldn't care less"

I know, right? - I've thought of this before also. The English language is inconsistent sometimes. Here's another one: fat chance and slim chance have the same meaning. What's up with that?

It's just a perpetuation of ignorance by the masses. Don't try to fight it, the ignorant outnumber us 1000 to 1.
