You did notice the Evil EMPIRE theme music I painfully typed out did you not? LOL
To Cosmo, if you are a Boston fan, you might want to start worrying about holding on to the Wild card, If you havent noticed the injury bug is starting to hit the Red Sox, and it is the WRONG time of year for that!!!!

Ahhhh the HATERS how I love it when we are in first and you all feel that sickening feeling in your stomachs. When the frustration of your team mediocrity overwhelms you and you feel the need to spew off non- factual insults about how the Yankees Suck and what not. Just like the commercial says "I Live For This"!!!!!!!!!

Hey hey... take it easy man. You're forgetting something.
It's August 2nd. Boston hasn't even started their annual "gag in August, fall 10 games out and then try to settle for the wild card" routine yet.
Save this question for about 2 weeks from now.

Boston and the Yankees are tied. Whoopee! Tomorrow the Yankees lose and the Sox are in first. The next day the Sox lose and the Yankees are right back to where they started. You guys should stop caring about who is in first right now and worry about who is going to win more games instead of placement.

They're tied, with New York having 2 games in hand.
Will be nice to see the Red Sux out of the playoffs, when the Chisox take the wild card and then knock the Spankmes out in the ALDS.

The Yankees have a .02 % lead over the Red Sox, so they are winning the division.

Face it, they don't quite suck, but they've fallen over the years...though I admit to being impressed with some of the young talent coming up...they're in a race for sure this season...as a New Yorker myself (and an admitted devoted Mets fan...see you guys in October?) I have to respect quality even in a hated opponent...and I don't gloat...
The fat lady is warming up her pipes...let's see who she gets around to singing for...
and by the way, this year I'm rooting for the Yanks...Subway Series II...(Mets in 6)

Yankees have a higher win percentage, so they are at the top of the AL East.
