I really dont think they hijacked it in fact most people that are straight call them gay and some other words as well. Yes we all know that gay states happy maybe when they started using that word for themselfs they used that word because that is what they felt or because that is what straight people call them.

Sorry, but that's a ridiculous question.
The word gay has had through its history an overall "promiscuous tinge" to it since the 1800's, and wasn't used first for homosexual men.
While it's true that since the 1920's, the gay population has used the word to refer to themselves, they certainly didn't "hijack" the word.

In the time of Jane Austen, the word gay ment happy. Now the people are "rebeling" the olden ways, gay means that if you aren't straight, you still are happy. Gay or unstraight men are good and happy people.

Who even says gay as happy anymore. Don't be stupid. Too many people are afraid of saying "I'm Gay" as in happy without being mistaken as a homosexual. It's not just gays it's straight people too. Moron.

Hijack, is that what you think we did? We were kind of labeled first, none of us really chose to be "gay" if it were up to us we would be something far more fabulous than just "gay". Yeah, we definately didn't choose it, you straight people did. So lay off, jerk.
