The Atkins diet is something to avoid. It cuts out carbohydrates and you live on meat, green vegies and salad. Because of this it upsets the balance in your blood and body and you produce ketones that make your breath smell as if you have been drinking a lot of alcohol or are a diabetic about to go into a coma! If you really need to lose weight join a reputable gym for extra exercise and something like "Weight Watchers" weight loss progamme.

Lots of fat and protein and no carbohydrate. Don't try it. It makes you smelly. Dr Atkin's dropped down dead at a relatively early age. Same as the guy who "invented" jogging. If you want to lose weight, a high fibre calorie controlled diet with exercise is the only way. Exercising in the cold weather is good. You burn calories, exercising and loads more keeping warm! In warm weather eat rabbit food, I mean lots of salad!

Its a no carbs diet. Carbohydrate is a source of long term energy and if you have carbohydrate in your diet you use that for energy. If you have a carbohydrate-free diet you use your fat reserves for energy, thereby losing weight

you bascially eat no carbs and eat mainly meat alcohol is also out of the question as is some fruit and veg its difficult but the weight falls off its hard to maintain tough
