There is no real answer to this question but what I have learned of what love is to me and that is the word LOVE itself holds the answer.......

(L)isten: and validate them by hearing and empathizing.
(O)verlook: their minor character flaws as they will overlook yours.
(V)alue: who they are and what they mean to you.
(E)xpress: how you love them not just with words but with actions.

This is off of wedding crashers but its a good quote:
"They say that true Love is the soul's recognition of its counterpoint in another"

But who can say what love really means. It means so many different things to so many people. To me it means, among many other things, that I will always have someone by my side to trust, hold, and always be able to look to and that I will always be there for her. But it goes much beyond the physical sense too. My emotions and soul tell me what love is. It is a feeling, it is a word that descrides the greatest thing in the world. Love is so hard to explain in words and those who have felt it can truely no what it means to them.
For others it means can mean many other things. It may just be the meaning of life.

Only you will know the answer to this question. Its a feeling that opens up all of your emotions like never before. Its an intense feeling of tender affection and compassion for the opposite sex or same sex if you are gay. But the thing to remember is once you have decided this is the one, then its up to both of you to keep the Flame going, or it will die and so will your relationship!
