I really think that people think ignorance is bliss. Why do people say "I don't know"? When it translates to them being to lazy to do the proper thing correctly?
Example: I did not know I was speeding.

My main reason for asking this question was, Why do people say the following:
I don't know how to wash clothes?
I don't know how to load the dishwasher?
I don't know how to close the door?
My oldest daughter says this all the darn time! Yet, she does all these items above on a regular basis when begged.

In regards to the spouce drinking to much.
I really do not want to know that either. HE can be a real A** too when he gets that way. Once in a blue moon, when he calls me that way I just want to hang up. Oh yes, I do hang up.

well there is a difference between being ignorant of facts n being 2 stupid 2 know. in some cases ignorance is bliss example I really do not want 2 know what my 19 year old daughter is doing in her own apartment k.lol I really do not want 2 know what my grown children r doing. why because everytime they tell me it makes me cringe.
now if I am in a car that can kill me I really like 2 know what the hell is going on n make a point of knowing little things like speed, if the brakes r working ect. lol
if my bf was cheating yes I want 2 know. if my bf if drinking 2 much at the weekly poker game hell no I do not want 2 know what an *** he was lol.
guess it just depends.
