You have a grueling process in front of you, honey, and some of these sugegestions you're not gonna like, but they are the only ones I can think of.

1. TALK TO YOUR KIDS-not while they are watching T.V., or playing on the computer, or waiting for their friends to show up. Pick a time when things in your household are fairly quiet and your kids' attention will not wander to something else. Talk to them plainly and bluntly. Give them the whole birds and bees thing even if this is a talk you have had with them before, and make sure you put emphasis on the good aspects of sex, that it is supposed to be between two consenting adults in the privacy of their own home for the purpose of showing love towards each other and/or procreation. If there has been an incident in either yours or their lives which has changed the way they view sex, now is the time to bring it up so you can all discuss it openly.
2. This is the part you may not like-if you want their image of sex to improve, you have to censure what they watch and read. That means knowing where your children are and what they are doing at ALL TIMES. I'm not saying lock them in their rooms, or make them do 5 hours of homework so that they are right in front of your nose all day, but use your own best judgement, and be prepared to hear "You're so mean" and "You never let me do what I want" and things to that effect. It's called tough parenting, and in today's society it is even tougher because sex has is so open and EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK!!!

O.K. I'll get off my soap box now. Hope I helped.

It depends what the bad ideas are and how old the child is but you need to bite your lip and sit down and explain things properly. There are many books out there that will help you. 'Where did I come from?' is a good one. It is meant for younger children but has all the facts for anyone with wrong ideas with tasteful but amusing pictures. Otherwise, don't stress too much. Children get over things and fill their minds with all sorts of things that are wrong. Myths have a way of working themselves out in a child's mind.
