I assume you are trying to use Windows Media player - here are the resolution notes for this problem http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=834483 If this doesn't help, try using a different player as it only seems that this error occurs with WMP.

Seriously though, could you not put the error number into google youself? It was the first link listed!

I would try to reinstall the audio driver first and see if that helps. If not try checking on the manufacturers website for any troubleshooting tips. If still no luck you may need to look for a new sound card.

sounds like a driver problem...delete the audio driver using the control panel and reinstall the driver (from pc makers web site)
you will find the driver type in the BIOS (hit f2 at start up...)

ok.first, its silly but check its all plugged in accordingly.working in safe mode or safe mode with net working would affect it too.if its a second hand pc you moght have to off load all the data on it.the easiest thing to do would be to get a new sound card, its very easy to install.

What operating system are you using? I know that Windows ME has lots of problems with sound but a restart sloves that problem.

you are punching the keys really hard and now it is piss*d at you. And I think it is saying the your speakers are not uploaded to the system. Try reloading.
