Just to clarify, evolution teaches that humans and apes both came from a common ancestor that was neither an ape nor human, NOT that humans came from apes.

And according to the process of evolution, this makes modern humans "Homo sapiens".

The link below is a good website to learn more, and is fairly easy to read.

Much less than what we really are, man is a unique creation. He has been given a soul; only a soul can build an alter and worship God. Man has a brain that stores trillions bits of information, and can think, reason and build upon knowledge. As smart as the apes might be, human beings are superior. Why do you think that when someone merely imitates an action, it is said, he apes. I would like to see an ape or any animal for that manner to build a vehicle to ride around in. Unfortunately man also has the capacity to lower himself to the level of animals, but animal can't raise themselves to our level. Charles Darwin's theory is still unproven, and the transitional forms he had hoped would found are still absent.

Men and apes are cousins. They evolved from common ancestors. The DNA of humans and chimpanzees are over 98% the same. That is just one proof of evolution. Genesis creation is a primitive tale that has been scientifically disproven, and its latest incarnation called intelligent design is nonsense too. Humans and apes are so similar in structure that no one who is not blind can doubt that they are closely related. The apes are probably ashamed of some humans who answer such questions as this one with quotes from an outmoded book of naive myths.

If we evolved from apes, then all the apes monkeys and baboons are the ancestors of future generations. We should respect them. Maybe the ones in the zoos are the fathers of the future presidents. lol!

I believe in evolution and I don't believe that our ancestors were apes. "Apes" and humans evolved from a common ancestor, something other than an ape and a human. Even if we did evolve from apes we're evolving, not devolving, it's not shameful.
