if you arent stupid, free safety. He's the smartest guy on defense and usually gets the most INTs in high school. But you need to be smart and athletic. Predicting routes is unneccesary and really, you will be retaught everything you know about football anyways so dont worry about it. Knock some heads and have fun, wear a varsity jacket soon and score with those hotties who arent hotties now but in two years.....bang! Its magic baby. High school was a blast. Have fun

of course you should try out. if it is even a question of something you think you could enjoy then yes you should do it. the only time I would say no is if it was because your parents thought you should etc.

you never know what you will find to be your thing and that may very well be. you may meet some of your best friends, you may have one of the best coaches that will influence you for a lifetime. you may be talented beyond your wildest dreams.

you may also not be talented and you might not make the team. don't be crushed; this too can be a good thing in disguise. you will learn to take rejection gracefully; that will surely come to you in life. (girls, jobs, opportunities) If this happens just say "thanks for the chance to try. I had fun"

best of luck!

good for you.

how do u know you can predict routes well???? if you never played football you have no idea....things change when your in the game, you think alot differently than in practice......AND IF YOU DONT HAVE THE AGGRESIVENESS TO GO OUT AND KNOCK THE ***** OUTTA SOMEONE you mite as well not play.....cuz you can be as big as hell and be a pussy, that doesnt make you good......if you are 140 5'10" either safety or LB..... but if your 120, corner or somethin.......and if you dont know what your good at your coaches will see in practice how good you are

your description shows a bias that you want to play DB. You can try out, you'll be put on JV, and try for CB or WR. If you're able to know when to go for the Interception or the tackle, you can do well at CB. With Defense though, you have to have upper body strength, you have to be able to make the open field tackle if necessary. If you're able to do that, then go for CB, if not, start out as a WR, work on that upper body, then move to the corner later.
