You'd really need to post your machine specs for us to help - was it originally quick, or has it always been slow?
Go to www.adslguide.org and do their speed test, that should tell you if it's your connection or your machine.

Computer becomes slow due to so many reasons.
1- Your RAM is too low.
2- Your hardisk's RPM speed is low.
3- You have not deleted Temp files lately
4- Some AntiVirus software is running which also slows the system at times
5- Too many browsers or applications are running at a time, this again is related to low RAM memory.
6- Your Temporary internet Files folder's "Amount of disk space to use" setting is low (IE>tools>options>settings)
Tick whichever fits your case and take correcitve actions.

if u did this then u dont have to do it again
start with cleaning a little bit by going to start menu then programs then accossories then system tools then disk clean up and clean everything u have there. then go the properites of the internet explorer and delete cookies and delete temprary files. if this does not help then u have to do some system scans and checks. good luck
